Common questions
- What is Theologos, and what does it cost?
Theologos is a place to read the Bible, reflect on it with others, and follow churches and communities. It is free. There is no advertising, no tracking across other apps or sites, and we do not sell your data — see the Privacy Policy for what we store and why.
- Where can I use it?
On iPhone, with the Theologos app from the App Store, and on the web at mytheologos.com. Both use the same account, so what you read, write and save on one appears on the other.
- How do I sign in, and what if I can’t?
You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email address and password. Any of them opens the same account; you can add the others later under Settings → Account. You can also try Theologos without an account first and save it to an email, Apple ID or Google later — nothing you did as a guest is lost.
If you forgot your password, choose “Forgot password” on the sign-in page and we will email you a link to set a new one. If you cannot get in at all, write to us from the email address on the account.
- Which Bible translation does Theologos use?
The King James Version, which is in the public domain and works offline in the iPhone app. The reading settings let you change the text size, typeface, spacing and layout, and show or hide verse numbers, headings and the translators’ marginal notes.
- Who can see what I post?
You choose for each post: your circle, the people who follow you, a church page you help run, or everyone. Public posts, church pages and events can also be shown on the public web pages of mytheologos.com so a shared link has a preview. Reflections and notes you keep for yourself stay private. You can block anyone, and blocked people are listed in Settings → Privacy.
- What do the metrics on my profile mean?
Chapters is what you have read yourself; Reflections, Conclusions and Amens are what you have brought to the study with others; Connections and Circles are who you read with. None of them is a ranking. Your Metrics explains each one and who can see it.
- How do I delete my account?
Open Settings and scroll to the bottom. Deleting your account removes your profile, reflections, notes, highlights and posts, and everything else only you own; it cannot be undone. Content that others copied through features you used — a repost or a quote of a public post — may remain, as the Terms explain. If you would rather we do it for you, email us from the address on the account.
