The short version

mytheologos.com uses a small number of cookies and on-device settings so you stay signed in and the site remembers how you like to read. None of them track you, none are shared with advertisers, and there are no analytics cookies. Because every one of them is needed for the site to work as you asked, there is no cookie banner to click through.

Cookies we set

  • Sign-in session. When you sign in, our authentication provider (Supabase) stores your session in a cookie named sb-…-auth-token (split into a few parts when it is long). It tells the site who you are on each page and refreshes itself quietly. It lasts as long as you stay signed in and is removed when you sign out.
  • Language. If you choose a language in Settings, a cookie named locale remembers it for a year. Without it the site follows your browser’s language.

That is the whole list. Our hosting provider (Vercel) does not set cookies on this site either.

Settings kept on your device

A few preferences live in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie. They never leave your device and are not sent to us:

  • appearance (light, dark or automatic) and the reading settings — text size, typeface, spacing, layout, verse numbers, headings, notes and the chosen Bible translation;
  • which Community segment and which Testament you looked at last, and a dismissed “Save your account” card;
  • the church-calendar choice;
  • the last area you looked at on the Explore map;
  • a copy of your reading position, so “Continue reading” works before the page has reached the server.

Third parties

Map tiles on the Explore map come from OpenFreeMap, and the “Directions” button opens Google Maps or Apple Maps in a new tab. Neither sets cookies on mytheologos.com; what they do on their own sites is covered by their own policies. Photos are served from Cloudflare R2 without cookies.

Managing cookies

You can delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser’s settings. Removing the session cookie signs you out; removing the language cookie returns the site to your browser’s language; clearing local storage resets the reading settings to their defaults. Nothing you created in Theologos is affected — it stays in your account.
